BN Haul: Holiday Edition

Hi Y'all, welcome back! Hope you are having a wonderful day or night. Before I get started on this haul, I just want to give you a fair warning... when it comes to these book hauls I can guarantee that 99% of the time they will be from Barnes and Noble. I don't know what is it about that place, but I just feel such at peace and always leave with a book in my hand.

How I start off my BN experience is that first, I go to the "sale" section of the store. I'm not 100% sure what it is called, but this is where they have the "exceptional value" sticker on their books. OMG don't even get me started on how many books I have found in that section that have been on my “to be read” section of Goodreads for years. Then, after that, I go into the mainstream section of the store. This is where you can find the latest releases and what is trending. If I am really looking for a gem, I go upstairs and browse for hours.

This time around, I only came in to buy one book I had my eye on since I saw it in the “sale” section this summer. It was not going to be my usual BN trip. The plan was go in find “The Winter Stroll” by Elin Hilderbrand and leave, since I had my 4-year-old sister with me. I was not planning on leaving with three holiday theme books, but since the holidays are just around the corner, I couldn’t resist. Plus, they were all in the sale section, so it was a double win.

If you are looking for Christmas novels to add to your collection, I would definitely recommend to hit up your local BN. They had so many titles on sale that I am surprised that I only came out with three.

I have been wanting to read "Winter Stroll" since about two Christmas ago. When I saw this book in the "sale" section over the summer, I was ecstatic, but wanted to buy it when the moment was right... and that moment was this past weekend.

I also bought "Winter Solstice," another Hilderbrand book and "The Christmas Town" by Donna VanLiere.

I'm going to be honest here, I did not realize "Winter Solstice" was written by Hilderbrand. I know, I should have seen how the covers of "Winter Stroll" and “Winter Solstice” looked similar, but what made me grab this book was the name. After I read the little synopsis I thought, Oh this will be a good winter read. If you are anything like me and love those good old Christmas rom-coms, this is just right up our ally. Also, I have been wanting to read a Hilderbrand book for a while now, so I thought this will be the perfect opportunity to read her work.

"The Christmas Town," just looked like such a cute book and could see myself snuggling up with a blanket and nice cup of hot chocolate this Christmas season. I remember seeing it on selves last Christmas at my local Meijer, but I never picked it up.

I am planning to go on another BN run soon. I realized the Hilderbrand's books are a part of a series and if you are anything like me, you don't feel like you are complete unless you have the full series. Hopefully, these will also be in the “sale” section.

If you have read any of these books or have any thoughts about Elin Hilderbrand, let me know. I hear such great things about her and would love to hear your opinion.

Talk to you soon!
Marina
